I am passionate about trying to understand the factors that allow students to learn and understand biology. I believe in being a research scientist in all aspects of my career. To do this, I explore how implicit factors like gender and self-confidence affect learning, and discern how well different science programs increase knowledge of biology.
The HOney Bees and Humans project
I am working with the University of Minnesota's Bell Museum and the St. Paul School System, where I evaluate the effectiveness of their Honeybee Education Program in collaboration with the fantastic grad student Hallie Kamesch. I enjoy working to help advance education practices at the K-12 level.
